In a film adaptation of a novel by James Franco, inner demons get in the way of two wannabe actors in Hollywood. An ex-junkie meets a 20-year old South Dakotan transplant during an acting class in Los Angeles. While acting may just be a pipe dream for the newcomer, it's the only way the recovering addict can get his life back on track and support his two children. As each young man’s obsessions mount, their identities intertwine with the Hollywood star they both worship, ultimately resurrecting the dark corridors of their pasts.
